Intro
Let me start off by saying that I would be lying if I told you that the idea for this blog came to me because I love writing and have an artistic streak for this kind of thing.
Like most software developers, I am not the most creative person and definitely not the best orator. However, I do sometimes enjoy writing code documentation and tutorials at my job. But that I count as absolutely soulless technical writing. Here, I'll try to add a bit more charm :D
That being said, I look at this blog as a challenge for myself to:
- Enhance my writing skills. Not only the technical language, but also casual non programming writing like this.
- Expand and better absorb technical knowledge. As we all know, writing about something you just learnt helps you remember it better.
- Try to grow an audience of people. Yes! And become a super ultra mega famous influencer. I'm joking, but if you are reading this, you should probably subscribe to see how well I do in this :D
- Improve my SEO skills. A blog page is literally the best place to start and practice this, in my opinion.
In the future, I might expand this list with more goals.
About me
My name is Titas. I am currently a university student majoring in software engineering and also working part time as a junior software developer (full time in the summer).
I started programming at 15 years old and have been in love with it since. Right now, I am in my early 20s, so there is still a loooooooooooong road to go and a lot to learn.
I love doing side projects like this one in my spare time. I am all about quality over quantity, so if I don't have anything to write about, I will not try to force an article out of thin air or ask AI to write one for me just for the sake of posting. You can be safe, no slop here!
If, for any reason, you want to reach out to me, you can find my contacts here.
What to expect from the blog
The main type of content you can expect to see here is articles about my experiences as a developer. This may include:
- Build logs: Overviews of real projects I built, decisions I made, mistakes, architecture, and final results.
- Tutorials: Concrete tutorials and practical guides based on implementations I did while building my apps.
- Tools & workflow: Notes about my development environment, tools, workflow, and everyday stack.
- Lessons & reflections: Less technical writing, personal notes, and honest thoughts on things.
Why choose to read the blog?
One of my lecturers in university used to say:
If you are ever going to build a startup, find yourself a chatty economics major, because no matter how good your product is, it will fail if you can't sell it.
Perhaps I am a bad student, as right now this blog is being sold to you by me, not by my friend from economics.
But jokes aside, if you are still doubting whether this is worth your time, I have 2 arguments that might convince you.
Firstly, a few minutes a week reading about the experience of other people can save you many hours someday. Perhaps you will encounter the same bug as I did and instantly know how to solve it, or integrate the same API as one of my apps and instantly have a verified code example to reference, which is already running live on the web.
Secondly, it costs nothing. You get absolutely free knowledge without giving anything back in return.
Thanks for reading my first ever article. And P.S. I lied a little bit on the 2nd argument. Actually, it would be nice to get your email. You can put it into the CTA down below. See you around!
